for lunch today: fluffernutter.
do you have any idea how long it's been since i've had a fluffernutter? if i had to venture a guess, i'd go with 8 years. they always make me think of the beach, because that was the only place i ever had them as a kid. it was magically delicious but left me with that kind of sickly feeling that says, "you just ate a mound of fluffy sugar and called it lunch." i love it.
i fell asleep on my powerbook last night, trying to pick photos for my portfolio and size them. (woke up after 3 a.m. with a CD on my chest and a really stiff neck.) i went back in my old flash portfolio and am horrified at how primitive my flash abilities were when i created it. i've got to hand it to myself, though... i made it do exactly what i wanted it to do... just in the most difficult and roundabout ways possible. i'm in the process of fixing that. whaddya say we eliminate the use of scenes, make the main page one frame instead of 22 (22?! carolyn, please!), and add some scrolly buttons to the negative. now about all that's left is deciding what's good enough to go in it, as well as some serious surf photo editing.
now it's off to fluffernutter-induced coma bliss for a few hours.

finally! i managed to get my main page to reload. i don't know what was wrong with my FTP program, but it wouldn't do anything for days, and it was really frustrating. it's fixed, though (and thanks, jeff, for the picture!), so now i have no excuse not to start updating my portfolio with the almost 1600 surfing pictures i took in costa rica. (no, i'm not going to put 1600 pictures in my portfolio, or even on the website. i will have a fun surfing page, though. i just have to build it. and they will come.)
my alexa ranking keeps going up and up. i'm at 492,958. what's really interesting to me is the fact that 57% of the visitors to the site go to the poetry page, whereas only about 21% are coming to the weblog. i didn't realize i had any audience whatsoever for the poetry. cool.
i figured out yesterday that i only have to go to school for 9 days for the rest of my life. i'm thrilled about this. now if i only had an after-graduation plan...

the book that i've been working on for the past several days at work is finally published! you know you want to read it, so
i have more to write about the weekend, but i'm at work now, so i'll do it later. i just had to do a little shameless promotion on my lunch break.
