On July 11, 2009, I'll be chopping off my hair again. It's been growing for more than 5 years. If you don't remember the last time I cut it, here's a photo from April 2004. That's slightly longer than the first time I did a very major chop, which was during 8th grade, the 1995-96 school year. That resulted in more than one "Have a great summer — PS: I love your short hair" post-graduation yearbook signatures.


This time, I'm going to be a little more extreme. I'm going for my shortest 'do ever. I'm thinking something along the lines of

I'm going to turn my head over to the capable hands of Julie at Moshi Moshi in Chapel Hill, and eventually turn my hair over to someone who probably won't get frustrated with it (as I am) at Locks of Love.


I created this survey awhile ago, before I was officially determined to lop off the locks. Feel free to fill it out if you like, but it probably won't change my decision.


And, since I still have a week and a half before the big day, feel free to add comments and suggestions about other interesting, super-short hairdos that might suit someone with stick-straight hair, a cowlick in the front, and a sort-of-pointy nose. Especially if they have corresponding fancy wedding styles to match. (Since my hair probably won't be growing back much before I get married.) Just don't expect me to dye it. Not going to happen.
