Back in December, I tweeted about finally figuring out how to shuffle a playlist on my iPod. This was especially important for my Christmas playlist. I was tired of having to listen to all my Christmas music in the same order over and over again.

When I discovered this by chance, I figured I was the only poor sap left in the universe who didn't know how to do it. However, two friends asked me how I did it, so I thought I'd go ahead and share it here for the world.

I have a 160GB iPod Classic that was purchased in December 2007. I am assuming this will work with most iPods of the same generation or later. Now, without further ado...

How To Shuffle A Playlist on Your iPod

  1. Go to Menu > Music > Playlists > (Your Playlist)

  2. Start playing the first song (or whichever one in the playlist you feel like listening to first).

  3. Click the center button 3 times. You should get a little "Shuffle" menu that says "Off | Songs | Albums."

  4. Use the clickwheel to scroll over to Songs.

  5. Click the center button again. After the current song finishes playing (or if you click the >> button), it'll shuffle!

Happy shuffling!
